The journey started back in 2010, when we built a simple solution to help a family-run salon move away from the chaos of pen-and-paper bookings. That first version grew into a complete software product and lived under the name eSalon for over a decade—serving salons and beauty businesses with reliability and heart.
By 2025, it had become clear that the new evolution in the making had grown far beyond its original form. It was time for a fresh start and a new name—this is where Pointa begins.
Founded in Auckland, New Zealand by John Punshon, Pointa is the next chapter of a trusted system, built with the same care but designed for today’s beauty industry. John is a lifelong tech enthusiast in all aspects and father of two young boys. With a background in software development and a passion for building practical tools that make life easier, John brings a personal touch to everything Pointa offers.
